I just purchased a Sony Vaio VPCS132GX with the hard drive removed/gone. I installed a new hard drive and installed Windows 7 home edition from an OEM disk.
There are 52 up-dates and drivers left to install to allow Windows recognize the various hardware and I was wondering if there was a 'specific order in which to install them?' And, will it work? Maybe I'm doing this wrong, I haven't done anything like this in 30 years. I have down-loaded all of the files which are in an .exe format. They are from the http/sonyvaiodriver.com/sony-vaio-vpcs132gx-windows-7-64-bit-drivers/ site. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated...and Thank you Sorry, but here they are: Sony VAIO VPCS132GX Windows 7 64-bit drivers Categories: Sony VAIO VPCS132GX drivers Sony VAIO VPCS132GX Audio (Sound) – Realtek® High Definition Audio Driver – [Detail] BIOS – BIOS Update Utility – [Detail] Bluetooth® Wireless – Broadcom® Bluetooth® Driver – [Detail] Camera – WebCam Companion® 3 Software – [Detail] Memory Card Reader/Writer – Ricoh® PCIe SD Bus Host Adapter Driver – [Detail] Memory Card Reader/Writer – Ricoh® SD CPRM Memory Card Reader/Writer Driver – [Detail] Memory Stick – Ricoh® PCIe Memory Stick® Host Controller Driver – [Detail] Motherboard – Intel® 5 Series 4/6 Port SATA AHCI Controller Driver – [Detail] Motherboard – Intel® Chipset Driver – [Detail] Network – Marvell® Atheros® AR8131 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller Driver Update – [Detail] Network – Marvell® Atheros® AR8131 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller Driver – [Detail] Notebook Control and Utilities – Sony® Notebook Utilities – [Detail] Picture Motion Browser – Picture Motion Browser (PMB) Update – [Detail] Picture Motion Browser – Picture Motion Browser VAIO® Edition plug-in Update – [Detail] Picture Motion Browser – Picture Motion Browser VAIO® Edition Users Guide Update – [Detail] Picture Motion Browser – Picture Motion Browser VAIO® Edition plug-in Update – [Detail] Picture Motion Browser – Picture Motion Browser VAIO® Edition Settings Update for Media Importer – [Detail] PlayMemories Home™ – PlayMemories Home™ version 2.0 – [Detail] PlayMemories Home™ – PlayMemories Home™ / PMB VAIO® Edition Plug-in 3D Theme Data Upgrade Program – [Detail] PlayMemories Home™ – PlayMemories Home™ / PMB VAIO® Edition Plug-in Upgrade Program – [Detail] Remote Software – Remote Keyboard Software Update – [Detail] Remote Software – Remote Play with PlayStation®3 Update – [Detail] Security – Protector Suite® 2009 Software – [Detail] Sony Applications (various) – VAIO Care™ Software Update – [Detail] Sony Applications (various) – VAIO® Location Utility – [Detail] Sony Applications (various) – VAIO Care™ Update – [Detail] Sony Applications (various) – VAIO® Application Data Update – [Detail] Sony Applications (various) – VAIO Care™ Performance Update – [Detail] Sony Applications (various) – VAIO Gate™ Software Update – [Detail] Sony Applications (various) – VAIO® Gate Default Settings – [Detail] Sony Applications (various) – VAIO® Gate Software – [Detail] Sony Applications (various) – VAIO® Hardware Diagnostics Software – [Detail] Sony Applications (various) – VAIO Care™ Software – [Detail] System Components – Sony® Shared Library – [Detail] System Components – Sony® Firmware Extension Parser Device Driver – [Detail] System Components – Intel® Management Engine Interface Driver – [Detail] System Software – 90-Day Survey Patch – [Detail] Touchpad – TouchPad Settings Update – [Detail] Touchpad – Synaptics® PS/2 Port TouchPad Driver – [Detail] VAIO Media Software – VAIO® Content Metadata Intelligent Network Service Manager Update – [Detail] VAIO Media Software – Media Gallery™ Update – [Detail] VAIO Media Software – Media Gallery™ Update – [Detail] VAIO Media Software – VAIO® Content Metadata Intelligent Analyzing Manager Update – [Detail] VAIO Update – VAIO® Update Software – [Detail] VAIO Update – VAIO® Update Software Update – [Detail] VAIO Update – VAIO® Platform Software Update – [Detail] VAIO Update – VAIO® Update Software – [Detail] Video – Intel® HD Graphics Update – [Detail] Video – Intel® HD Graphics Driver – [Detail] Wireless – Wireless Component Update – [Detail] Wireless – SmartWi™ Connection Utility – [Detail] Wireless – Intel® Wireless Display Software – [Detail] Wireless LAN – Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6200 AGN Driver – [Detail] Sony Vaio Windows 7 Upgrade
Hi, everyone. Thank you in advance for your help and attention to this matter.
I currently own a Sony Vaio VGN-N365E running Windows XP (it shipping with Windows Vista) and have noticed in the Device Manager that I have an alert about the 'SM Bus Controller' (I have posted a screenshot here). When right-clicking on the SM Bus Controller and clicking 'Properties,' I receive the following dialogue: 'The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 2.' So, I downloaded CPU-Z to find out exactly what type of motherboard I have and here is the screenshot of it. I have an 'i945GM.' So, I went to Intel's website and used their 'Intel Driver Update Utility' to sort out my drivers and see what needs to be updated/installed. Here is a screenshot from the Update Utility, which basically says that both of my Intel drivers are perfectly fine. In any case, I went ahead and re-installed the driver for the chipset. The file was called 'winxp_14324.exe,' if that helps. So, does anyone have a suggestion of what I might do to resolve this issue? If additional information is needed, I will supply it. Thank you so much. Comments are closed.
